gas|ket «GAS kiht», noun.
1. a ring, strip, or sheet of rubber, metal, plaited hemp, or other material packed around a piston, pipe joint, cylinder head, or other enclosed area under pressure, to keep steam, gas, and the like, from escaping.
2. Nautical. a cord or small rope used to tie a furled sail to a yard or boom.
